Born on July 22, 2001 in Brussels, Morgane Rose grew up in Liège in a family of five children, of whom she is the eldest. She is currently studying at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Liège. Her artist name pays homage to her dog, Rose, who accompanied her throughout her adolescence. It also echoes her favorite flower, which her father traditionally gives her every birthday. Purple has been her favorite color since she was very young.
Her first love is the piano. It was while watching the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana that she discovered this instrument and began to become interested in singing. First having fun with toys, she took piano and music theory lessons at the Académie de Saint Nicolas from the age of 8 and 9. Around age 13, she started using karaoke apps, singing daily in her bedroom as a means of expression and ultimate escape. At 16, she opened an Instagram account dedicated to covers.
She mainly covers songs in English, influenced by English music from all eras, ranging from Etta James, Queen, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, Tracy Chapman, via Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Rihanna, Adele... as well as Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato,One direction, up to Phoebe Bridgers, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Jorja Smith, Aurora, Mitski, Billie Eilish, Faouzia, Frank Ocean... She is also very inspired by several French-speaking artists such as Jacques Brel, Barbara, Dalida, Lara Fabian, or more recently Angèle, Pomme, Yseult, Iliona. Her parents being lovers of music, it was through them that she developed her musical tastes, mainly thanks to her father, before forging her own musical trajectory.
Her first drafts of songs took shape at the age of 8. First in French, then in English. This language allows him to fully explore all his emotions and to be comfortable with them. She observes the world around her a lot and appreciates each element constituting nature. Family occupies an essential place in her eyes, as evidenced by the song 'Family was my wonderland', just like her friends, whom she considers a second family.
Committed to the fight for gender, racial, class and LGBTQIA+ equality, she defends a vision of a tolerant and empathetic world, where no form of discrimination has its place. For her, everyone must be free to be who they want to be, far from societal standards considered 'normal'.
In 2023, she meets Alec Mansion, who sees real potential in her and offers to collaborate on a musical project. A beautiful artistic connection blossoms between them, leading to months of creative exchanges. His music consists of soaring songs dealing with various topics in a positive light. Of the ten tracks on her album, three were entirely written by her: 'Sacred beauty', 'The keys' and 'The sun to my moon'.
She explores varied universes: from intimate piano/voice to orchestral flights, including pop, country or disco sounds, with some inspiration from the '70s.
The creation of a first album which is the result of a period of deep reflection where each song embodies a part of her personal and creative journey. From composition to recording, each step was marked by a desire to capture the sincerity of his experiences and share them with you.
